Coconut farmers across the State staged a dharna in front of district collectorates on Monday as part of an agitation called by the Consortium of Coconut Producer Companies in Kerala to highlight various demands. The farmers wanted the government to release the budgetary allocation of Rs.30 crore for production of Neera, issue licence for Neera manufacture, and sanction a revolving fund for procurement of coconut and copra.

A pressnote issued by the board said the agitation was a success. — Special Correspondent
