Protest against slandering Guru

The Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust (SNDST) has, in a resolution adopted at its annual general body meeting, registered its protest over the way some people are slandering the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru.

Crores of people consider the Guru as god. However, some people are today portraying the Guru as a god man as a social revolutionary. Recently, a statue of the Guru was shown affixed to a cross and shown with a rope around the neck. Some others have derided the Guru as a servant of the British colonial rulers. Yet others are deriding the Guru by portraying him just as the leader of a community. There are also those who limit the Guru by portraying him as one among the hundreds of “sanyasis” who were social reformers. This is to be strongly protested. People should desist from a partial portrayal of the Guru by not fully understanding his teachings and message. His teachings should be studied and the Guru, recognised as one of the makers of modern India, a press note issued here on Wednesday said.

People should desist from a partial portrayal of the Guru, says Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust.
