Online survey of transgenders

Department of Social Justice has decided to conduct a socio-economic survey and individual development scheme on an online platform as part of the efforts to ensure gender justice and equality to transgender community, Health and Social Justice Minister K.K. Shylaja has said.

The department has selected Centre for Management Development, from amongst various applicants, to conduct the survey.

The online survey is being undertaken so that all members of the transgender community can be accounted for and brought to the mainstream. That alone would ensure that the benefits of the comprehensive scheme for transgender community, ‘Mazhavillu’, being implemented by the State government reach all members of the community, Ms. Shylaja said.
