Online fraud: two held

June 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

State Cyber Crime sleuths have nabbed two Africans from the national capital on Tuesday in connection with an online fraud case registered in the city.

The arrested were identified as Pascal Ekema, who holds a Nigerian passport, and Kabange Francis, a citizen of Congo. A team led by T. Syamlal, Inspector, Cyber Police, reportedly trapped the duo after calling them to a mall in Delhi, under the guise of handing them over Rs.10 lakh which they had demanded from an elderly woman in the city. The duo had earlier fleeced the woman of nearly Rs.11 lakh, after befriending her via a fake Facebook profile. — Special Correspondent
