Nurses, parents hold protest

The Indian Nurses' Parents' Association (INPA) on Friday organised a protest march to the Secretariat and staged a dharna demanding waiver of education loans, extension of loan repayment period, and stopping of loan recovery processes.

Hundreds of nurses, nursing students, and their parents took part in the protest march and dharna, which was inaugurated by the former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kerala N.A. Karim.

Addressing the dharna, Dr. Karim pointed out that the issues faced by the nurses was a problem of civil society and what was happening in the sector was a clear violation of human rights and fundamental rights envisaged in the Constitution.
