Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that he will leave no stone unturned to launch the Vizhinjam Deep-sea Container Transhipment Terminal. “There is no question of yielding to the opponents of the project,” he told The Hindu on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of his government.
Mr. Chandy said the project proposals had been processed in a transparent manner and he would be able to easily convince the Opposition, for which he had convened an all-party meeting. “The meeting will witness open discussion. We will also consider uploading the project proposals on the website,” he said.
The CPI(M) was trying to scuttle the project proposals ever since it became known that the Adani group would be the main promoter. There was no basis for the opposition, because the LDF government was instrumental in roping in Mundra ports, owned by the Adanis, he said.
