Every household in Kerala will get broadband connectivity in three years, Industries and IT Principal Secretary P.H. Kurian has said.
Inaugurating the Kerala chapter of the ‘Intel & DST Innovate for Digital India Challenge’ at the Technopark here on Wednesday, Mr. Kurian said as many as 1.3 crore people in Kerala would get linked to the web during the period. Kerala is the only State where every panchayat is connected by 100 Mbps connectivity through optical fibre cables. Such widespread connectivity would result in better interaction between government departments and citizens and lead to better governance.
“If every citizen is empowered, the vision of a 100 per cent digital India will become a reality,” he said.
