The Napier Museum in the capital city has received a much-desired makeover and technology backup that would make it visitor-friendly.

The band stand has been renovated, adding to its majesty. A new space for visitors to gather for refreshments has been created. Additional toilet facilities too have been added to the museum that sees hundreds of visitors every day. A website and a specially designed app for the differently abled have also been launched.

A 11 KV-substation has been set up to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the museum.

Ports, Museums, and Archaeology and Archives Minister Kadannappally Ramachandran inaugurated the new facilities and launched the app at a function held on the museum premises on Wednesday. The Minister lauded the department for having created the new facilities and the app which, he said, would add to the attractions of the museum. Offering felicitations, K. Muraleedharan, MLA, said the museum had a great role to play in educating the new generation about various phases of history.
