Minister helms class for teachers

On Friday, Minister for Education C. Ravindranth was back in class, talking about molecular machines and molecular theories. Those in attendance were higher secondary Chemistry teachers.

The occasion was the launch of a higher secondary teacher training programme at Government College for Women here.

Creative skills

The Minister, who was a Chemistry teacher, urged the teachers not to teach only so that students scored marks, but also to boost their creative skills and let them soar high. Through studies, children should learn to think independently and ask questions.

Director of Public Instruction K.V. Mohankumar presided over the function. Collegiate Education Director Haritha V. Kumar and Higher Secondary Director P.K. Sudheerbabu, and SCERT Director J. Prasad were present.
