Man killed in accident

One person was killed when the two-wheeler he was riding was hit from behind by a tipper lorry near PMG Junction here on Wednesday.

The police said Santosh Kumar, 48, of Marappalam, who was driving the motorbike, was killed on the spot when the tipper lorry hit his motorbike from behind as he was proceeding from Plamoodu to PMG at 6.20 a.m. The driver, who fled the spot, is still at large.

The police have seized the lorry and summoned the owner.

Santosh, a PWD contractor, is survived by his wife Pavitra and daughters Gopika and Devika.

The City Traffic Police have registered a case and are investigating.
