Man killed as autorickshaw rams parked bus

A 40-year-old man was killed after the autorickshaw he was driving rammed a parked Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus at Kallambalam on Sunday.

Three other people who were in the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Lost control

The incident occurred near the Kallambalam police station at around 2.40 p.m.

The deceased, identified as Riyaz of Vattiyurkavu, lost control of the autorickshaw, which then rammed the bus.

Rushed to hospital

Although Riyaz was rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital, he succumbed to injuries.

His two daughters and mother-in-law, who were accompanying him, were injured. They have been admitted to a nearby hospital, the sources in the police department said.
