Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan has said that the clash between the Lok Ayukta and Upa Lok Ayukta was hurting the credibility of the Kerala Lok Ayukta.
In a statement here on Friday, Mr. Achuthanandan said the angry outburst of the Upa Lok Ayukta about non-receipt of key files relating to the bar bribery case showed the deep division in the institution, affecting people’s faith in the institution. There were allegations that attempts were on to undermine the very existence of the institution and that the Lok Ayukta was shielding the corrupt instead of bringing them to book, Mr. Achuthanandan said.
