Bus highlighting government’s achievements flagged off

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) government’s governance policies are a model to emulate for the rest of the States, A. Sampath MP, said. He was speaking after flagging of the ‘Nava Kerala Express,’ a campaign vehicle to spread the achievements of the LDF government among the public, on the Shanghumughom beach here on Sunday.

“The LDF government’s efforts are towards building a secular, corruption-free and developed Kerala. At this juncture, when the Pinarayi government has completed one year, we can proudly say that none of the promises have gone in vain. Some of them have already been fulfilled and steps are being taken to implement the rest,” said Mr. Sampath.

He said the government had made achievements in all sectors in its first year in office. There have been policies aimed at women’s safety, women’s empowerment, improvement of health indicators, protection of public education and expansion of agriculture, he said.

“The government is taking along all sections of people in its march forward. One of its brave steps was aimed at reducing the burden of those from the economically backward families who have taken education loans.

“Following demonetisation, it took steps to alleviate the sufferings and protect the co-operative sector, which had taken a hit,” Mr. Sampath said.

The ‘Nava Kerala Express’ was flagged off as part of the celebrations marking the one-year rule of the LDF government.

The specially designed interiors showcase the four key missions put forward by the government. With photographs, three dimensional models and accompanied text, it explains the achievements in various sectors over the past year, as well as the ongoing mission activities.

The Express will tour various parts of the district till May 7.

After that, it will take a tour through all the districts, before ending its journey in Kasaragod.
