Land prices fixed

The State-level Empowered Committee has fixed prices for the land to be acquired as part of the second phase of the Karamana-Kalayikavila National Highway widening project, Health Minister V.S. Sivakumar said here on Wednesday.

The land would be acquired from Pravachambalam to Balaramapuram and had been priced in four categories, with the A category to have a price of Rs.13.25 lakh per cent while the B-category was priced at Rs.11.9 lakh per cent. The C and D categories would be acquired at Rs.11 lakh and Rs.9 lakh per cent respectively. The total cost of land acquisition for the second phase was Rs.201 crore. The District Collector will hold talks with landowners for acquiring land for the third phase of the project from Balaramapuram to Vazhimukku.
