Candidates with over 40 per cent visual impairment who sit for the K-TET and SET examinations will get a 10 per cent relaxation in marks, an order issued by the State government says.
The order also gives permission to replace questions based on pictures with other questions in the examination paper. Guidelines on allowing scribes for such candidates have also been issued. The services of children studying in higher secondary and vocational higher secondary schools can be used as scribes. A photograph of the scribe should be included in the application form and it should be signed by the Principal concerned.
Scribes should be paid an amount of Rs.150 for each examination, the order says.
