The blue brigade of the Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP) will lead the dengue control activities being undertaken by the Parishad in Kalady ward.
This was announced at a people’s convention, organised as part of dengue prevention and control activities, at Government High School, Kalady.
Ward councillor G.S. Manju inaugurated the convention. Parishad State vice-president B. Ramesh presided.
Government Medical College Community Medicine wing assistant professor Aneesh T.S. took a class on dengue fever spread and prevention.
Public awareness was significant to combat dengue fever, he said. Waste management should become a habit, he added. Parishad district secretary P. Pradeep spoke about the activities that could be undertaken easily.
The Parishad also conducted house visits and gave away health pamphlets prepared by it. It was also decided to observe dry day in all houses. A survey will also be help to know the extent of mosquito proliferation.
Residents’ association office-bearers, political party representatives, Kudumbasree workers, and public activists took part in the meeting.
