The Fort police have arrested the KSRTC employees who blocked the Kudumbashree volunteers who came for a training at the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation’s (KSRTC)Training Centre in the City Garage. They were being given training to manage the reservation counters of the RTC in various parts of the State and outside.
The police intervened as the KSRTC employees, affiliated to the INTUC, CITU and the AITUC, who are opposing outsourcing of the reservation counters, snapped the internet connection of the training centre to disrupt the training on Friday.
They also verbally abused those who came for the training.
On the basis of a complaint by the KSRTC, the Fort police rushed to the spot and removed the agitators. They were arrested and slapped cases under Section 143, 147, 149, 186 and 506(1) of the IPC.
Footwear removed
On Thursday, the agitators had removed the footwear of the 20 Kudumbashree volunteers who had come for training at the centre.
The Fort police intervened and forced the agitators to return the footwear that were dumped in the waste bin. The KSRTC management, in a release on Friday, deplored the stir.
