The Opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) disrupted the Assembly proceedings on Monday demanding the ouster of Finance Minister, K. M. Mani over the bar licence bribery case.

The House was adjourned for the day in 25 minutes after the Deputy Speaker, N. Shaktan cancelled the Question Hour and Zero Hour as the Opposition legislators continued with protest and slogan shouting to take up the notice for an adjournment motion given by them on the issue.

As the protest by the LDF legislators continued, the Deputy Speaker rushed through the other proceedings listed for the day. Enraged over this, the legislators rushed to the well of the House and squatted raising slogans. The House passed the Kerala Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill 2014 and the Kerala Municipality (Second Amendment) Bill 2014 without any discussion before adjourning for the day at 8.55 a.m.
