Kanchi Shankaracharya arriving today

He will inaugurate a Hindu delegates' meet as part of the golden jubilee of Temple Entry Proclamation.

The Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham Jayendra Saraswathi would arrive in the city on Friday for a four-day visit.

Activists of the Hindu Aikya Vedi plan to accord a welcome to the seer.

On November 12, the Shankaracharya would inaugurate a Hindu delegates' meet being organised here by the Vedi as part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Temple Entry Proclamation.

The jubilee celebrations would be inaugurated at 10 a.m. on November 12 at the Ananthasayanam Kalyana Mandapam by the present head of the ruling family of erstwhile Travancore Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma.

At 5 p.m. on November 12, the Shankaracharya would inaugurate a ‘Hindu Swabhiman Sammelanam' at the Gandhi Park.

On November 13, the seer would bless the first batch of students of the MBBS programme at the SUT Academy of Medical Sciences, here.
