The first Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan Literary Award will be presented to poet O. N. V Kurup on April 2. Noted film-maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan will present the award to ONV at a function to be held at VJT hall.
The award, instituted by Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan Foundation, carries a cash prize of Rs. 55,555 and a citation. The award function to be chaired by former Education Minister M.A Baby will be attended by poet Sugathakumari, Ezhacherri Ramachandran, Nelamperoor Madhusudhanan Nair, V. Madhusudhanan Nair, Prabha Varma, B. Iqbal and Samuel Mar Ivanios.
The award function would see a Padayani performance by the Kadammanitta Gothra Kalari and a visual presentation of poems by Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan by Thiruvananthapuram Natya Graham. There will also be a poetry recitation session attended by several noted poets.
