A 58-year-old man was arrested by the Thampanoor police on Sunday for allegedly running an Ayurveda clinic without licence.

Manilal, who hails from Ernakulam, was arrested during a raid on Arsha Ayurveda Clinic, near Overbridge, Thampanoor. The accused is the proprietor of the establishment, which was operating for close to a year, the police said. The raid, which was conducted around 11 a.m., was organised on the basis of a media report that immoral trafficking and other activities were being facilitated at the clinic. However, the police were yet to obtain any evidence regarding this, an official said. The police said the clinic operated without necessary documents.
