Flights carrying Haj pilgrims from Kerala will operate from the Cochin international airport this year on account of the ongoing re-carpeting works at the Karipur international airport in Kozhikode.
Haj camp
A Haj camp will function at the Cochin airport at Nedumbassery and the State government has decided to make all facilities and arrangements for the pilgrims.
The pilgrimage starts on September 2 and the maintenance hangar will be converted into the camp.
Rs.25 lakh
The director board of Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) met at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Friday.
The meet decided to bear the expenses for the arrangements and make available Rs.25 lakh from CIAL for the purpose.
