G.R. Anil re-elected CPI district secretary

G.R. Anil has been re-elected as the Thiruvananthapuram district secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI). He was elected unanimously at the party’s district conference that concluded at Kattakada on Tuesday.

Mr. Anil, who was the former district secretary of the All India Kisan Sabha, is currently the State working committee member and district vice-president of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC). He has been a district council member of the CPI for 28 years.

He had also served as a councillor in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation for 10 years, health and education standing committee chairman for five years, and as member in the director board of Kerala State Handloom Weavers Co-operative Society (Hantex) for 10 years.

The district conference elected 57 delegates, including 52 full-members and five candidate members, to the party’s district council. A total of 58 delegates were also elected to take part in the party’s State conference.
