A goonda Shanavas, alias Shanu, has been arrested by a team of the Vattiyurkavu police. A police communiqué said Shanu was engaged in the illicit spirit trade and vehicle theft since 2005.
Recently, Shanu teamed with Abhilash, a goonda operating out of Sreekaryam, and tried to kill one Suresh Kumar in a bomb attack. Abhilash was picked up by the police soon after. It was a special police team constituted on the directive of the City Police Commissioner that finally managed to nab Shanu, the press note said.
