Girl missing from Kerala MCH

A 15-year-old girl, a victim of alleged sexual abuse and who was brought for counselling in the psychiatry ward of the Government Medical College Hospital here, has gone missing from the hospital. According to Medical College police, the girl was brought to the hospital around 5.30 a.m. on Wednesday by staff of the Nirbhaya Shelter Home in Idukki district. They were accompanied by the girl’s mother as well. However, the girl reportedly went to the bathroom and went missing since 6 a.m. The police said she was put up at the Idukki shelter home around two months ago after being abused by a man and was brought to the psychiatry wing for counselling on Wednesday after she showed signs of mental disturbance.

A missing case has been registered, with all railway stations, bus stations and police stations being alerted, the police said.
