Administrative sanction has been accorded for works to the tune of ₹1,760 crore for improving the infrastructure facilities in five government hospitals, Health Minister K.K. Shylaja has said.
The Minister said in a release here on Sunday that Thiruvananthapuram Medical College would get ₹717.29 crore, Chirayinkeezh Taluk Hospital ₹70.72 crore, Kottayam General Hospital ₹219.90 crore, Wayanad Medical College ₹625.38 crore, and Mavelikkara District Hospital ₹126.55 crore through the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board.
Funds for masterplan
Funds have been sanctioned for implementing a masterplan at the medical college here. This includes development and maintenance works such as development of the bio-medical engineering wing, imageology and such others.
The government has entrusted Inkel for preparing the masterplan and detailed project report. It had submitted the report to the government and the sanction was issued on the basis of the report. Works on the hospital facilities would commence soon, she said.
