Exit polls banned

The Election Commission has barred the print and electronic media from publishing exit poll results between 7 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. on June 27, the date of the Aruvikkara Assembly by-election.

The Commission has also barred the print and electronic media from publishing opinion poll results or survey outcomes from 5 p.m. on June 25, the time when the campaign for the by-poll ends, to 5.30 p.m. on June 27, the time when polling concludes, the Chief Electoral Officer Nalini Netto said in a press note here on Wednesday.
