Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has promised to clear the hurdles in giving emigration clearance to nurses who have got job visas. She gave the assurance to Shashi Tharoor, MP, who took up the issue with her on Monday.

Mr. Tharoor’s office said in a release here on Monday that he had a telephonic conversation with the Minister, and she promised to clear the impediments in providing emigration clearance to the nurses at the earliest. The Union government had made emigration clearance compulsory for migrating to 17 nations, except Kuwait, on April 27. — Special Correspondent
