Directive on vehiclestransporting students

May 23, 2017 12:35 am | Updated 12:35 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram

Drivers of taxis and private vehicles that transport students to schools and colleges should produce the vehicle documents, driving licence, and police clearance certificate at the city traffic police station at the earliest, the city traffic police have said.

This follows a decision to implement a numbering system for such vehicles. The decision was taken at a meeting of school and college managers, principals, and headmasters at the traffic police station a few days earlier so as to ensure the safety of students.

In case of any lapse in producing the relevant documents, strict action will be taken against the owners and drivers of the vehicles, a statement from the city traffic police said. For complaints and suggestions, call 0471 2558731, 2558732, 1099.
