Destitute-free Kerala project launch today

Minister for Local Self-government A.C. Moideen will inaugurate the Destitute-free Kerala project being implemented through Kudumbashree at Kalpetta in Wayanad on Thursday.

The project is aimed at ensuring various benefits to the destitute and bring them into the social mainstream. It will be implemented with the support of local self-government institutions.

C.K. Saseendran, MLA, will preside over the function. Kudumbashree Executive Director Harikishore S. will introduce the project. A.C. Balakrishnan, MLA, will inaugurate the fund distribution and O.R. Kelu, MLA, will inaugurate the distribution of health cards to beneficiaries. Collector A. Ajayakumar will deliver the keynote address. District panchayat president K.B. Naseema will honour community development societies (CDS) that have completed the Ashraya project.

As many as 1.6 lakh beneficiaries will be provided livelihood opportunities under the project.
