Delimitation: panel receives 3,008 complaints

The Delimitation Commission has received 3,008 complaints on the draft report on ward delimitation in 240 local governments in the State. The last date for submitting complaints and suggestions on the draft report ended at 5 p.m. on Monday. The following is the district-wise break-up. Thiruvananthapuram — 326, Kollam — 420, Pathanamthitta — 90, Alappuzha — 46, Kottayam — 81, Idukki — 44, Ernakulam — 181, Thrissur — 83, Palakkad — 256, Malappuram — 435, Kozhikode — 345, Wayanad — 162, Kannur — 367, and Kasargod — 172. District-level officers have been entrusted to hear the complaints and suggestions. They will collect details from individuals and organisations who have filed complaint and suggestions, conduct field inspections and a submit report to the commission for preparing the final report, the commission secretary has informed.
