Delicious food for little film buffs

Adding dollops of flavour to the ICFFK is the food arranged for children and teachers by the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare.

Since the start of the festival, a mess set up on the premises of the Swathi Thirunal College of Music at Thycaud has been rustling up food thrice a day under the eye of council executive member R. Raju. The menu is fairly extensive - dosha, idli, and puttu in the morning, lunch with fish or chicken, and chapattis or porotta with chicken, beef, or egg curry for dinner.

Nearly 2,000 persons, including children from tribal areas in other districts and those living in child care institutions and teachers attending the fete, are served food every day, besides children who have registered as delegates and want to partake of food there.

No caterers

Mr. Raju said the food had not been entrusted to caterers and was instead being cooked on the premises using provisions purchased from Triveni, Kepco, Milco and soon. The city Corporation is supplying the water for cooking and other needs.
