CPI(M) Thiruvananthapuram district committee member B.S. Rajeev died at a private hospital here on Saturday. He was 62 years old and had been afflicted with cancer for long. Besides having functioned as the secretary of the Vanchiyoor and Peroorkada area committees of the CPI(M), Mr. Rajeev had also been a member of the Syndicate of Kerala University.
The body will be kept at the CPI (M) district committee office at 1.30 p.m. on Sunday for the public to pay homage, following which the cremation will be held at the Santhikavadam electric crematorium at Thycaud at 3.30 p.m.
He is survived by his wife Sindu, an employee of the State Council Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and daughter Swati R. Krishna.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled the death, calling it an irreparable loss for progressive movements in the State.
