Council approves new fares in three city cinemas

The city Corporation on Monday approved the ticket fares in the renovated Athulya, Athira, and Aswathi cinemas.

Amid ruckus in the council meeting, member of the standing committee for Finance S. Vijayakumar moved a resolution seeking the council’s approval to fix new fares approved by the committee.

The committee had fixed Rs. 500 and Rs. 250 for reclining and executive seats respectively in Athulya. There are 42 seats in the reclining and 653 seats in the executive categories. While the ticket fare in Athira for gold class category seats, numbering around 51, was fixed at Rs.350, the fare for executive seats, at 153, was fixed at Rs.175. The committee also fixed Rs.175 for executive class in Aswathi theatre.
