Corporation to the aid of flood victims

To collect relief materials from residents

The city Corporation has come forward to help those affected by inclement weather in the State.

The Corporation will collect from residents materials needed by those living in relief camps in various districts. Towels, ‘mundu,’ nighties, bedsheet, tee shirts, underskirts, notebook, pens, brush and paste, bathing and washing soap, buckets, sanitary napkins, rice, pulses, atta, rice flour, semolina, coconut, coconut oil, tea leaves, sugar, chilli, sugar, salt, and biscuits will be collected by the civic body. Only new products will be accepted.

The relief material will be collected at the Corporation office at Palayam, Putharikandam grounds, Jagathy grounds, near Kazhakuttam ward committee office, near YMA at Chakka, Sasthamangalam, Vanchiyoor, Ulloor, Statue Junction, near Vattiyurkavu ward committee office, Peroorkada Sopanam shopping complex, near Thiruvallam zonal office, opposite Hotel Chaitram at Thampanoor, in front of the Sree Chitra Tirunal College of Engineering at Pappanamcode, Vizhinjam, and Sreekaryam junctions between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on August 17 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 18.

Mayor V.K. Prasanth has called for people’s cooperation in the effort.
