Cong. groupism thwarts Consumerfed revival package

Govt, guarantee for securingRs.150 crore remains uncertain

July 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 10:26 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The simmering group difference in the Congress is thwarting the implementation of a bail-out package and roadmap for reviving the functioning of the Kerala State Cooperative Consumers’ Federation Limited (Consumerfed). The government guarantee offered for securing Rs.150 crore from six district cooperative banks remains uncertain for want of clear political decision. No palpable step has been taken till date to implement the decision made on March 12. Department sources said that banks were awaiting a go-ahead from the Cooperation Minister’s office for releasing the funds.
