City VHSE students help restore power at Pandanad

The students of a vocational higher secondary education (VHSE) in Thiruvananthapuram joined hands to help restore electricity supply in the flood-hit areas of Pandanad in Chengannur.

The electrical branch students of the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School for Boys in Mancha, Nedumangad and their teachers helped in restoring electricity in the colonies of Pandanad, where the electrical wiring in most houses had suffered extensive damage.

The team from the school managed to address the problem and restore electricity in 74 houses. Besides, they replaced around 120 switches in these houses.

The students also repaired damaged 30 pump-sets and 12 fridges, school principal S. Binuraj said in a pressnote.

Led by the Principal, the team also comprised S. Sabu Kumar, a teacher of the electrical section, Tholiyacode KSEB Assistant Engineer Anish, and Nishil, tradesman of the Government Technical School, Kanjirappally.
