Bullets seized from air passenger

A 60-year-old man has been arrested after he was found travelling with five bullets in his baggage at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport here on Friday.

The Valiyathura police said Pavitra Kumar Saha, a resident of Janakapuri Colony in New Delhi, was detained by security personnel at the airport on Friday morning after he reached here on a flight from New Delhi at 5.20 a.m. along with his wife.

He was handed over to the police.

Saha, the police said, had claimed that he had licence for the bullets, but did not have the papers with him. The claim would be verified, the police said.

A case was registered under sections of the Arms Act. Saha was remanded in judicial custody.
