A breast cancer screening camp was organised for woman employees of Kerala Medical Services Corporation Ltd. here on Monday.
The programme was organised with the aim of creating awareness of breast cancer and to encourage women to go in for early detection and treatment.
Besides the employees of KMSCL, about 30 women from the locality too participated in the screening camp.
Doctors who led the camp gave out all information on breast cancer and its risk factors and how women can do self examination, which will help in the early identification and diagnosis of possible tumours.

An estimated 5,000 women in Kerala are newly detected with breast cancer every year, which has now emerged as a serious public health concern.
