Body of missing boy recovered

The body of Mohammed Naif, 15, who went missing after falling into the Killi river, was recovered on Monday. Naif of Pathinonnamkallu, near Nedumangad, accidently slipped into the river while he was waiting on the banks of the river with friends for a swim. His body was found near Patthamkallu, said sources in the Fire and Rescue Services Department.

Still in relief camps

Meanwhile, a majority of the people shifted to relief camps after their houses were flooded following Saturday night’s rain, continued to remain at the temporary shelters. Officials in the district administration said, majority of the people who were still in the camps were from Kochappan Pillai Nagar, River Valley, Kavithode, Kaduvetti, and Mannanmoola in Maruthamkuzhy. Floodwater had not completely receded from these places, he said.

There were reports of damages to five houses at Varkala and two at Kattakada in the rain on Monday, he said.
