Award for IEEE Kerala section

The Institution of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), Kerala section, has been awarded the 2015 MGA (Member and Geographic Activities) outstanding large section award for its activities conducted in keeping with the IEEE’s vision ‘Advancing technology for humanity.’

Ramakrishna Kappagantu, director, IEEE Region 10 (Asia Pacific), presented the award, comprising a plaque, to IEEE Kerala section chair Unni Sankar at a symposium on ‘Technology Roadmap for Kerala 2025’ here.

Presenting the award, Mr. Kappagantu said that to top the 334 IEEE sections in the world was a great achievement by the IEEE Kerala section, and indicated the quality of leadership and the volunteer effort that had gone into various activities. Several of its innovations in organising activities for students and professionals have been replicated globally.
