An aged woman succumbed to injuries that she had sustained after being assaulted by her son in their house near Attukal two weeks ago.
The deceased was identified as Gomathy of Kalluvila. She had sustained serious head injuries after being allegedly attacked by her son Rejikumar alias Rajeev using a stone on November 4. Meanwhile, the Fort police arrested their maid, Beena, 42, of Attukal, for allegedly stealing a necklace weighing two sovereigns from Gomathy, while she had been lying in a pool of blood following the attack. The theft came to light after Gomathy’s daughter noticed the necklace to be missing. The accused was remanded in judicial custody.
