AFWWA regional unit lends a helping hand

Expressing solidarity with the women housed at relief camps of flood-affected Kozhencherry, the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) handed over 1,800 ready to use relief packets containing clothes, sanitary napkins, toothbrush, toothpaste, bed sheets, candles, match boxes, soaps and snacks.

Radha Suresh, president, AFWWA(R) handed over the relief packets to District Collector K. Vasuki at the IAF Technical Area, Shanghumugham, on Wednesday.

The relief materials were later transported to Kozhencherry and handed over to the affected women, sources said.

The grant of ₹5-lakh by the AFWWA and voluntary contribution by Sanginis amounting to more than ₹ 4 lakh was utilised to provide this relief.

This is in addition to the 19 tonnes of of ration items, sanitary napkins, baby food, milk powder, clothing items, utensils handed over to the the Collector by the AFWWA on August 17.
