The present Kollam District Collector, A. Kaushikan, has been posted as the Thiruvananthapuram Collector, in place of Biju Prabhakar, who has proceeded on leave to Baltimore, where he will be attending a conference till June 18. The Collector’s office said it was a decision of the State Election Commission to post Mr. Kaushikan, a 2009 batch IAS officer, in place of Mr. Prabhakar, in view of the preparations required for the Aruvikkara by-election and the necessity of a District Returning Officer. While Mr. Prabhakar leaves for Baltimore on Saturday, Mr. Kaushikan is expected to assume charge on Monday.
