Adalats to clear building permits

Pending files to be disposed of by month end

District-level adalats will be held from July 19 to 30 to dispose of pending applications for building permits and occupancy certificates in grama panchayats across the State.

Out of the 59,798 applications received in 941 grama panchayats till July 24, a total of 34,121 applications were cleared by July 10.

The remaining 25,677 applications will be taken up under the Panchayat Deputy Directors in the districts.

Panchayat Director B.S. Thirumeni said that the aim was to complete proceedings on all pending files by the end of the month.

Out of the applications, 28,234 were for building permits, of which 14,766 were disposed of. Out of the 11,582 applications for regularisation, 6,202 were disposed of. Out of the 19,892 applications for occupancy certificates, 13,153 were disposed of.

In Thiruvananthapuram, the adalat will be held at the collectorate conference hall on July 29 and 30, in Kollam at the Ilamad grama panchayat hall on July 26 and at the Elampalloor grama panchayat hall on July 29, in Pathanamthitta at the Kozhancherry grama panchayat hall on July 25 and 26, in Alappuzha at the Punnapra north grama panchayat hall on July 26 and 27, in Kottayam at the Kottayam district panchayat hall on July 26 and 29, in Idukki at the Painavu district panchayat hall on July 26, in Ernakulam at the Ernakulam district panchayat hall on July 29, and at the Ernakulam collectorate hall on July 30, in Thrissur at the DPC Ayyanthol hall on July 23, 24 and 26, in Palakkad at the Collectorate conference hall on July 25 and 26, in Malappuram at the Malappuram district panchayat hall on July 24, 27 and 30, in Kozhikode at the Olavanna grama panchayat hall on July 22, at the Nadapuram grama panchayat hall on July 23, at the Chemanchery grama panchayat hall on July 24 and at the Thamarassery grama panchayat hall on July 26, in Wayanad at the Panamaram grama panchayat hall on July 26 and at the Meenangadi grama panchayat hall on July 27, in Kannur at the district panchayat hall on July 19, at the Kathiroor grama panchayat hall on July 22, at the Cheruthazhom grama panchayat hall on July 24, at the Kalliassery grama panchayat hall on July 26 and at the Peravoor grama panchayat hall on July 29 and in Kasaragod at the Ajanoor grama panchayat hall on July 26 and at the Kasaragod DPC hall on July 27. The adalats will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
