The Kerala State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes has launched a series of adalats, aimed at addressing grievances of people from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, in the district. According to a release here, Commission Chairman P.N. Vijayakumar chaired the first such adalat at the Neyyattinkara PWD Rest House on Thursday, taking up 13 cases for hearing and settling all the 13 cases the same day. The Commission would henceforth hold similar adalats at Neyyattinkara, Nedumangad and Kattakada taluks once in two months, Mr. Vijayakumar said.

C. Bhuvanachandran, Superintendent of Police; R. Thankan, assistant district SC/ST development officer; Najmal Hussain, Dy.SP, and N. Jayakumar, Dy.SP (Neyyattinkara), were present.
