A man and his wife sustained minor burns when an ‘anonymous’ person threw acid at them near Thampanoor on Wednesday evening. Circle Inspector Sheen Tharayil identified them as Prem, 34, and his wife, Reshma, 24. They told the police that the man barged into their desktop publishing establishment and threw acid on them. Initially, Prem said he did not know who the attacker was. Later, he said the person could be a man known to him. The police were not taking their statements at face value.
