Sudheeran registers protest on FACT move

Centre plans to privatise Fertlisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd. through disinvestment.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president V.M. Sudheeran on Wednesday registered his protest against the Central government’s move to privatise Fertlisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd. (FACT), Udyogamandal, through disinvestment.

In a press release issued here on Wednesday, Mr. Sudheeran said that the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, which has replaced the Planning Commission, has become the torchbearers of privatisation and corporate bodies.

‘United move needed’

He called for strong protest cutting across political lines to block the moves to privatise this flagship company.
