Prevention of wild animal attacks in focus

Forest Minister K. Raju has said that efforts will be made to enhance precautionary measures and compensations in the wake of an increase in wild animal attacks in recent times.

Speaking at a meeting held on Wednesday to discuss the issue, Mr. Raju said that Jana Jagratha Samithis would be formed in local bodies coming within forest areas.

The grama panchayat president, ward member, forest range officer, and representatives of the Vana Samrakshana Samithi would be made members of the committees.
