Worried over the possibility that their missing relatives had joined the Islamic State (IS), seven relatives of 15 missing persons from Padanna and Thrikkarippur here on Sunday lodged formal complaints with the Chandera police station, confirming the total number of such persons from the district missing under mysterious circumstances to 17.
The police station had a busy day with registering the complaints of anxious family members a day after two persons lodged similar complaints stating that their two sons, Mohammed Murshad and Mohammed Sajid, in their mid 20’s, went missing since last month, while they were on their way home from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
4 women and 3 kidsAmong the missing are four women and three children, police sources said. Elaborating the details, they said K.V.P. Ismail, a resident of Thathanisherry at Thrikkarippur, lodged a complaint stating that his son Mohammed Marvan went missing over the last one month.
Others in the list of disappeared received by the police in six other complaints are Firoz Khan, hailing from Elambachi at Thrikkarippur; Mohammed Manzad (Thrikkarippur); Abdul Wahad Abdulla from Udumbumthala near Padanna, his wife Ayisha and their daughter Sana; Shamsia, resident of Vadakkekovvil at Thrikkarippur, her husband Ashfak and their daughter Ayisha; Shafeezudeen (Padanna); Ijaz hailing from Padanna, his wife Refala and their son Ajan; Shihab (Padanna) and his wife Ajmala.
